Mozambique: the land of the "golden" nature
In 1998 Prof. Stakhov's destiny "throw" him to Mozambique, one of the exotic African countries in the Southeast of Africa near to Southern African Republic. The rector of the University Eduardo Mondlane, the main State University of Mozambique, Professor Brazao Mazula offered to Prof. Stakhov to take the Professor position of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. The Department was needed the Doctor of Sciences, the specialist in computer science with good knowledge of the English and possessing the experience of training PhD's. The initiative of Prof. Stakhov's invitation belonged to Yury Petrossuk who was Prof. Stakhov's apprentice and the specialist in Fibonacci numbers. After defending his PhD's thesis Yury Pertossuk studied the Portuguese language and was directed many years back to Mozambique to work as Professor of the University Eduardo Mondlane.
The University Eduardo Mondlane always supported very good educational and scientific contacts with the Ukrainian Universities, in particular, with the Vinnitsa Polytechnic University. Many former teachers of the Vinnitsa Polytechnic University work now in the University Eduardo Mondlane. With one of them, Professor Ivan Jazina, Prof. Stakhov established especially warm friend relationships. Two young teachers of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department Leopoldo Nhampossa and Emilio Mosse graduated from the Computer Engineering Faculty of the Vinnitsa Polytechnic University.
Prof. Stakhov began his scientific activity at the University Eduardo Mondlane from the lectures delivered at the scientific seminars of the Department and the University. The lecture delivered by Prof. Stakhov in November 1999 at the general scientific seminar of the University played the special role in development of the Fibonacci direction at the University. At this seminar there were the teachers of many Departments, in particular, of the Architecture Department, and also the representatives of the University rectory, in particular, the Vice-Rector on the personal resources and information technologies Vinancio Massingue. Due to this seminar Prof. Stakhov's authority increased essentially and the University administration on behalf of Vinancio Massingue and Lidia Brito, the Academic Vice-Rector (later Lidia Brito was assigned by the Minister of the Higher Education, Science and Technology of Mozambique) began to render active assistance in development of the Fibonacci direction at the University.
The plant world of Mozambique is extremely miscellaneous also its many representatives were literally "larded" by the Fibonacci numbers and the golden section.
Thus, the Nature of Mozambique promoted to development of the Fibonacci direction at the University Eduardo Mondlane!
